Just  curious as to what everyone would love to own or feels is though is the best small, medium and large tractor I'm still putting thought into mine…  but I will chime in for sure!

Small   -  Lawn Ranger L-107.  more than enough grunt to do chores and easy to get on and off for us older guys....

Medium  -  Charger/ Electro 12  Got to love their ability to push snow 10 pinion limited slip and the Sundstrand Hydro with lift that works immediately in the cold.

Large - C175 - 8  Plenty of smooth power bullet proof tranny to para phrase Ron Popeil  "set it 2nd and forget it"  uphill down hill thick grass what ever she soldiers on.

Sorry! couldn't limit it to just one of each :D

Small - Zeroturn, don't care what brand, to get into all them tight spots when mowing. Working on getting one.

Small - Not fair perhaps, but C165 Auto, de-modernized, 38" tiller and 42" RD deck to get into the tight spots as well. In the stable. Perfect for cleaning up in the blackberry scrub in between the trees.

Small - Any round hood. Do not want one though, as it would only be a show peace to me, and that don't compute in my head.

Medium - C195, 84 model, 3pt, rear pto, 50" tiller, 60" HD deck. In the stable.

Medium - C195, 84 model, TLB. Tractor and most parts have landed. Work in progress.

Larger - JD compact 3R series, or a little older equivalent. TLB and a 72" deck. Just a wet dream so far....... :-)

953 nut

:text-yeahthat:

Gotta go along with the RS as the favorite BIG :wh:, don't know if I will ever have one, but very high on the wish list.

RJ-35 would be my pick for a small :wh:, lets face it, they are just too cute to not make the list. I need to get mine down from the haymow and restore it one of these days.

As many of you have already guessed my favorite medium size :wh:  is a 953. Don't ask which 953 is my favorite, love them all.

I really like my 854, fun little tractor. Just like it are my Commando's. They'll do whatever you ask of them. And they manuver like a champ. Great in tight spots.

Sarge

Small - 854 (have one). Compact, great all around little worker capable of punching well above it's weight

Medium - 1277 or C-160/16Auto (have all three) very tough, very capable, brutally simple

Large - C195 w/3pt or D-200 (have a D180) ugly, tough, dependable - as long as you don't break it

Stupid $$$$ - Kubota, in nearly any flavor

Small - RJ,s and Surburbans (my wife says there cute)++

Medium - 953/1054 WH, 2nd runner up my Case 180. The hydraulic drive is cool

Large - my Old Oliver 2-44 loader/backhoe. Tractor It's slow, a beast to steer, sips diesel and at 9900 lbs puts 5 tons of grunt into that loader

Jim, I'm sure it would be cool, but I have a CC original waiting on me that I grew up on that will have to suffice, then there's the "Frankenstein" project :auto-layrubber: boiling in my mind :confusion-confused:...who knows which way the wind may blow

What works for me is my 854 3  speed for most work.

854 6 speed for heavier work.

Modified raider 12 6 speed with rear hydraulic lift for everything else.

My advice is study what you want to do with them and go from there. You will soon find that each one will have a dedicated use so three may not be enough.

Detroit Diesel ...converting diesel fuel to noise for 80 years.

I can still hear my dads old 671 GMC truck pulling the lowboy with a D7 cat on the trailer. way back in the late 50's and early 60's, nothing else sounded so good to me.
