Gave the 42" RD deck that came with my new 416 some attention today.  A classic Saturday project!

Looks pretty good from 10' away but up close she's hurtin'...

Remember what happens in the Alien movies soon after that spider thing clamps on to someone face?  This looks similar...

(how on earth do people manage to do this?)

Hopefully this will reduce the clippings that get all inside the frame and transaxle area...

I put an ALU plate underneath this to cover the blowout hole (I dont have a welder)

I almost put the belt on the outer pulley but came to my senses

The cove base chute extension just fits..

If I cant cut at a height of >3.75" I might not use this tractor as a mower for more than 20 feet (I like cutting my grass high). It looks darn close!

I got around to puttering with the two GT2500s I picked up earlier this week.  One just needs a tune-up and cleaning.  The other will partially turn over by hand and come to a dead stop against something and I don't know what.  I've detailed it here:

Im hoping it turns out to be something simple to fix but it's not looking like it.

Was cutting grass with the 416 today-checked voltage and noticed gauge was pegged. Got multimeter and confirmed about 17v. I knew the battery wouldn't live long like that so I disconnected the battery lead from the regulator and finished my yard. Luckily I have a project 416 in the barn with a brand new regulator so I swapped them and now back to around 14v. Then moved on to FIL's field and my neighbor's yard until it started raining hard. Of course once I put everything away it stopped. Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow when I go back down there.

Hooked up to small yard trailer to help the wife bring in some pumpkins in, that the groundhogs decided to dine on.

A bad ground on the regulator is the likely problem here.

Finished the refresh on my 1960 suburban 400, except the rims and tires. Then introduced it the the others.
