@pfrederi,

Well, at least a couple of adult beverages on the workbench and an entertaining calendar over the bench, help ease the pain at bit....... ;-)

Congrats on your success!

I had gotten what was left of a 68 Commando 8 from 953nut at the Big Show.   He got the transmission and the engine was already gone so was the wiring. I've been scavenging parts for my other tractors.  The 854 got the implement lift lever and lock. One of my other Commandos got the steering wheel, which came off suprizingly easy. Used one of the footrests also. My other Commando got the seat pan, which was in a lot better shape than the one it replaced. Today I took it completely apart, cleaned everything and made sure what was left are good usable parts and stowed it all away for either future use or for sale. I now kind of wished I didn't sell the hood or the belt guard. They would have come in handy.  But I did make a couple of bucks.  Even Richard got little out of it too.  I got quite a pile of parts for 15 dollars :banana-wrench:

I was mowing the lawn with the B-80 today and backed up to starting mowing another row.  Put transmission in gear and let foot off the clutch no go!  I thought set screw on shifter might have come loose but checked  after removing front bar under seat pan.  Shifter ok.  The I remembered I had this happened a couple years ago.  The set screw on the drive pulley had loosened up and so I Power to the transmission!   Got a 5/32 Allen wrench out and tightened the set screw down good.   Back in business for maybe another couple years!

@WHX20 the seat is surprisingly comfortable. But here's some pics of the lights working. I got to adjust them still. But it's raining so I'll save that for another day.

Agreed on the comfort Chris but kinda looks like you chopped up a grade school desk to make it happen! :ychain:

I honestly don't know who made the seat. Whether it be homemade or mass produced. It came on another tractor I bought awhile back and I just hung on to it.

Mowed the yard for the first time with my new to me 42" deck.  Had to put in 2 spindle bearings and sharpen the blades.  Absolutely no rust holes on the deck, just a little surface rust.  Mows excellent - much better than the 37" deck that came on it.  Next up is a set of 8" front wheels - just need to paint them.

Must’ve been the time to test out “new to me” 42” SD decks!  Caleb’s uncle Roger gave him one for JackRabbit that too had a couple of rough bearings.  However, the shell and the rest of it was in really good shape.49130D9C-7B4E-4E42-BCB3-06BF50A4A5FC.jpeg.f0b3d781cff93476d0d850f47adcd0b3.jpeg

It was so cool to see Caleb cutting on his very own tractor.  He was really enjoying it although he looks mad in the pic—probably concentrating!

Then it was time to head up to Symco for the thresheree.  We took GhostRider and Comanche...

I love doing stuff like this with the whole tribe!

The boys got into some trouble while in the “old town” and the Marshal threw them in the clink!

Took this pic just as we were loading up.  We hooked Dad’s old Bolens plow on the back that he used to plow our garden with attached to the 875 when I was a kid!  A fun Wheel Horse day overall!

@dells68 Remember that if you are changing from 6 " wheels to 8" you need to change the axles to 8 " or the front end will set up higher.  6 " axles ( spindles ) are longer than axles (spindles) for 8 " tires.

Slightly split a Charger 12 to replace the two  seals behind the motion control.  Went really well this time. I can live with seeps and small drips but this was more than needed to stop rust on her underside....none of my tractors/mil vehicles will ever rust out from the bottom....

I've got a set from a c125.  Those should work shouldn't they?

I started repowering my Charger 9 with a 10hp Kohler.  Wiring/cables yet to be hooked up, but making progress.

Thanks!  New to me so I am going thru it.  Tecumseh HH100’s solid state ignition failed so I swapped a Kohler.  All original.  Tires even say “Wheel Horse”.

The square hoods are my favorite style of Wheel Horse.  Not sure why :confusion-shrug: it's just the overall looks  of them.
