Well being close to a hundred degrees the last couple days I spent that time in the barn with the a/C on working on the tractors. I started putting on things I got at the Big Show .  Took the tall chute blower apart and ordered bearings and the idler sprockets it needs. Put new deck wheels on the 42 inch RD deck I bought. I'd like to find the double D blades it needs at some time too. Started cleaning up the rims on the Commandos they're looking kinda rusty. I know I can find lots to do out in barn in order to beat the heat. My job building houses has me outside year round so any opportunity to be this heat, I'm all over it.

Can you get me a length measurement?

I'll see what I have here.

They are 9 1/2”  I also need the ball for the inside and outside if you have that as well.

Thank you,

Front end of my new Charger 12 was loosey goosey.  Made a new axle pivot pin added some shims to it and teh steering shaft.  Tie rods had bee welded in the past and were ready to fall off, so I made up some new adjustable ones.

6" long 1/4" iron pipe nipples.  You have to run a 3/8" drill through the to clean them out and get right size for the 3/8 all thread.  (1/4 Inch pipe is actually .364 inches ID)

Gonna set it up to plow, gonna put an 8 pinion differential in it with the old plow tractor motor 12hp. Hope to have it ready by fall.

I'm gonna change this just a wee bit and call this entry what will I do with my Wheel Horse today.  I've got some Commando parts that 953 gave me after he took the transmission.  So I'm gonna cannibalize what's left and change some of what's no great on one of mine for what's in better shape on the other,  Then clean up what's left and stow parts away for safe keeping. ya jut never know when you need a part, or maybe have some things for someone else.

Got out the B80 Patriot Horse for the first time since 6/9 or 6/10 and towed the utility trailer down to the backyard for the trailer to be re-decked.

Woke up kinda motivated....so out came the 8 speed in my C-165 that was leaking from everywhere!

It’s was a hot one in the garage, about 94 degrees, but in went a nice dry tight 8 speed.

Took it for a spin around the yard and all seems good :handgestures-thumbupright:

Almost too hot to work in the garage. Mid 90’s. But like @Sparky, I managed a few hours with the granddaughters working at repairing the hack job frame repair some prior owner did to the 551 I picked up at the show. Managed to get the welds removed. Will work in an appropriate repair while we wait on axle seals to arrive.

Any chance of getting some measurements from you? I have a 551 here that is missing the complete rear plate so have nothing to go by. PO gave up on the project after removing what was left of it.

Transmission hole spacing not a problem but don't know how far above the frame they are.

Are they centered on the frame width?

Is the plate even with the bottom of the frame?

Also how far above the frame is the center of the clutch shaft?

How far from the plate to the center of the shaft?

Garry

Given my experience with GT 14 hubs (removing them without breaking them, that is) a big July 4th Congratulations!

I'm celebrating with you with a little super high proof rum, right now!!! 151 Proof, to be exact.

Some of my local friends call it "Jet Fuel".

Since you are on a run......might as well try a few more hubs!

It's hot today, so cast iron is about as expanded naturally as is likely to be without a torch......
