Changing the engine on the bike to a S&G K181 instead of the M8. It's something that's been on the to do list for a long while because it looks more "period correct". I like the curves of it instead of the boxie look of the M8. Having a difficult time fitting a gas tank without having a solid front hood to make a gas tank to replace the mimicked slotted one.

Not sure why I need to add the pressure of getting it done before the show but... Somehow scrambling around like crazy with a short deadline just seems natural. Been doing it every year for about 9 years, so here we go again.

That engine does look more “period correct” if that description works. Way cool!

see this thing in person.

Josh, I saw that thing last fall at the meet and greet in Connecticut at @stevebo' s house. It really is a marvel of engineering when you get to looking at all the small things. You, in particular, will be more impressed than you could know.

Not so sure about that! As stated before my craftsmanship, when it comes to nice and / or proper, is far below the league of some members here. This is all backyard hammer mechanic engineering and you'll see what I mean when looking up close. It's a 20 footer and more photogenic than it is in person.

The van will be emptied and ready right before I leave. You know the deal!

My brother David and I rebuilt a 42 inch side discharge mower deck for use ona C160 Wheel Horse.  Took some time as old spindle hex bolt heads weee worn thin. Used bolt extractor on two spindle housings and had to cut and drill third one out!  This deck is unique as we have three different type of 42 spindles with three different type of pullies .’, but they all match up fine with spindle deck belt. D1517B9F-5CB3-4E1E-AFD7-E1BAC20D73F4.MOVD1517B9F-5CB3-4E1E-AFD7-E1BAC20D73F4.MOVD1517B9F-5CB3-4E1E-AFD7-E1BAC20D73F4.MOV

Winged Victory !

I paid $150 for that C 160 last year.   Needed a new head gasket, sparkplug, cleaning out of the  tins from a big mice house,  and new points and consdenser and runs like a new one.  Came from a large farm and I think was used to pick up limbs, haul tooks etc.  Another "homemade"  addition.   My brother wants to take it off but I kind of like it.

I'm trying to motivate myself off the patio to go get a battery for one of the 312's. jumping it wasn't so bad til I ran out of gas at the farthest point possible.

Well since I don’t have time to weld up the slot in the hood, I installed this. Had it laying around anyways. Waiting to use it on something. Found the something. 😁

Frantically working on the 654 to try and get it done for the show. If get the hood primed and painted today, it should be done! Had to remove the hood seam from a really messed up sheet metal repair in the past and rebuild the bottom attachment. Hate working with glass and Bondo!
