Chris G 3,272 #1 Posted January 5, 2018 I am getting ready to add some headlights and tail lights on my 702 plow tractor. Just looking for some advice on the best way to wire them in.
WHX?? 46,404 #2 Posted January 5, 2018 Depends abit on how the tractor is wired now but an option is always to wire direct to the battery thru a simple on/off switch and appropriately sized fuse.
Chris G 3,272 #3 Posted January 5, 2018 The tractor is wired the way the manuals diagram shows.
WHX?? 46,404 #4 Posted January 5, 2018 Look on the far left terminal of the voltage regulator facing the driver. Should be an L terminal & that's where most diagrams have accessories wired off of. I would still wire off the battery direct fused. That way the VR wouldn't be subject to a short in your added wiring, heaven forbid it would happen but it does. I wired my cab lights direct to battery on my 520 and glad I did as I pinched the wire in the hood, several times , no harm as all that happens is the in line fuse gets blown. Chris G 3,272 #5 Posted January 5, 2018 Alright well thanks for the tips. I was thinking to the battery was the safest bet. But it never hurts to ask and see what other folks think.
