Adding lights on a 702

Recommended Posts

I am getting ready to add some headlights and tail lights on my 702 plow tractor. Just looking for some advice on the best way to wire them in.

WHX??

Depends abit on how the tractor is wired now but an option is always to wire direct to the battery thru a simple on/off switch and appropriately sized fuse.

The tractor is wired the way the manuals diagram shows.

Look on the far left terminal of the voltage regulator facing the driver. Should be an L terminal & that's where most diagrams have accessories wired off of. I would still wire off the battery direct fused. That way the VR wouldn't be subject to a short in your added wiring, heaven forbid it would happen but it does. I wired my cab lights direct to battery on my 520 and glad I did as I pinched the wire in the hood, several times :angry-banghead:, no harm as all that happens is the in line fuse gets blown.

Alright well thanks for the tips. I was thinking to the battery was the safest bet. But it never hurts to ask and see what other folks think.
