:text-coolphotos:           Looks like you are well beyond the point of no return. May as well do a full restoration!       :ychain:

Love the motorcycle lift, saves the old back.    :handgestures-thumbupright:

Gonna be a clean up and oil up, gonna keep her original

Good idea, once you sanded the frame a little it really brought out a nice patina.

Nice Tom :handgestures-thumbupright: I'm sure you'll do it justice. Any thoughts on looking for a 90 or 91 for it?

Got some more done today. WOW the hood just pops:woohoo:. Cleaned up the front axle and spindles. Pulled the trans apart. Got a rusted shift fork, gears look pretty good, mushroom gear is worn.

Is the serial # on your ID tag still legible Tom?

Know the date code on the trans?

:confusion-shrug: I was thinking, possibly a '59 unit...

but, from the serial #'s that have already been recorded...(note, your's is already on the list)

looks like the '59's start at 18,500 and above...of what is believe to be, around 1100 of the '59 units produced.

Makes a true, documented '59 about a rare as hens teeth...as you can see, only two(2) have ever been recorded.

Scroll, about 1/2 way down the page here...

to see the serial #'s Garry has recorded, to date.

Trans all buttoned up, new bearings bushings and seals, flipped the axles . Pretty tight but it all turns properly. Bolted up to the frame, dropped on the power. Did some more wetsanding.

Had some time today, soldered in the threaded insert for the fuel bowl. Threaded the block for exhaust.
