squonk 38,917 #1 Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) As the Christmas season is upon us it's time to be thinking about 1 thing and 1 thing only: THE BIG SHOW IN PA!!! Yes it's cold out and there's no snow to plow (unless your at Bob's or Richard's house) but it's time to start planning on where our night tailgating bull sessions are going to be. Some of may not know but the Comfort Inn we stayed at for years was switched to a Super 8 shortly before last years show. Needless to say it was not nearly as nice as before. The good news is, the new Comfort Inn is across the street from the MCdonalds on the corner. Last year "The Big Guy" sent me on a recon mission on Saturday to the new motel. It was under construction but the girl said it was going to be "just like the old Inn" They will even have waffles for breakfast. Looks like a nice big drive up roof for when we're out in the rain at 10:30 at night. I'm including a link and a few pics. Looking for opinions @stevasaurus @Racinbob @Vinylguy @857 horse @JPWH @stratostar250 @953 nut @Aldon @ACman I usually make my resi around the first of the year so I don't spend my money on foolish things like taxes, health care, toothpaste soap ect. https://www.choicehotels.com/pennsylvania/chambersburg/comfort-inn-hotels/pa785?brand=CI Edited December 9, 2017 by squonk 11

stevasaurus 22,229 #4 Posted December 9, 2017 and there is a phone company cross connect box right there...I'll feel right at home. Love the handy-cap bar in the head.
squonk 38,917 #5 Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) I don't see any "Bus Stop" benches. Might have to pack an extra lawn chair! 12 minutes ago, stevasaurus said: Love the handy-cap bar in the head. You can make a couple of nice exhaust stacks out of them! Edited December 9, 2017 by squonk
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,044 #6 Posted December 9, 2017 How close is it to 81 don't want another migraine from the truck noise and some big guy running around yelling "Where is that Guy? " .
JPWH 5,308 #7 Posted December 9, 2017 The remodel looks good. I'm thinking of camping next year but haven't made up my mind yet.

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,044 #18 Posted December 13, 2017 @ACman Jeff where did you stay last year ?
ACman 7,507 #19 Posted December 13, 2017 (edited) @elcamino/wheelhorse Holiday Inn Express Shippensburg . This coming year hopefully we’ll be staying on the grounds. That way it gives us (I mean wife’s) No reason to leave and miss half the show . Edited December 13, 2017 by ACman
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,044 #20 Posted December 13, 2017 Is that close to the interstate ? Truck noice and I don't get along. Want to figure out some where I (we) can stay so I can spend more time at the Show and enjoy everything. Last brought a friend and his grandson ( they live about 50 miles away ) and I spend more time entertaining them than enjoying the show and the BS discussions
19richie66 16,942 #21 Posted December 13, 2017 Working frantically on the gt trying to get it ready. Already have that week in the vacation book. Have my fingers crossed. Isn't this about 20 miles from the show grounds? 2

19richie66 16,942 #24 Posted December 13, 2017 I hope to have it good enough to drive around. Need somewhere to leave the trailer/tractor while we sightsee the first part of the week.
Racinbob 10,276 #25 Posted December 13, 2017 There's some guys here that are close that would let you drop your trailer. I don't remember who but likely they will chime in. Once the show starts you can leave it at the fairgrounds.
