The store I manage sold Jonsered, Husqvarna and now Stihl.  I've always heard that Dolmar was a great saw.  I gather Makita bought them.

Yep, you can them orange or blue, Makita bought Sachs-Dolmar in 2007 but kept them separate nameplates until this year.

I have a 1987 Dolmar 116si.

Absolutely love the power of that Beast for getting through a log.

Haven't used it for a year or so because the chain brake cover is melted internally. .. (My fault )

Sometime or other I'll get around to fixing it.

Can't believe the strength  whenever I use it.

Gave the new Dolmar a bigger work out today on a a downed chestnut oak and a few pole sized trees at my property in WV, 3 tugs for cold start up, 1 tug the rest of the day, and throws chips a good 10 feet or more, Jeff.

@shallowwatersailor, John here's another picture of "your" saw, been back home for the last couple days trying to get caught up with the firewood for my folks, the "wood wagon" is 4' wide by 8' long with 18" sides I'm guessing we get about 1/2+ cord of wood on it each round, anyways it's still going strong starts easy real fine saw thanks again, Jeff.

@shallowwatersailor, Had the Dolmars (5105 with 20" bar and 540 with an 18" ) back out had a pretty big yellow locust (almost as tall as this big wild cherry tree) on the property line next to my red tractor shed that started worrying me after the ice storm last month so this morning it took a tumble away from my shed also started on the ice storm clean up as well.

@ebinmaine, I don't think you're Patriot Horse would have tugged this locust whole, as it was still mostly green and hit the soft rain /snow soaked ground with a terribly loud thud, when I go to tug out the wild cherry tomorrow I'll try to take a few pics while I'm hitched up to with the eMax, Jeff.

The dealer I bought the eMax from is an ECHO dealer as well, they are light and have a good warranty, haven't actually ran one but most likely one will be a replacement for the Poulan Wild Thing you see above.

I bought a cs490. 18 inch bar.

It's light weight. Well balanced. Powerful for the CC that it is.

Yes, I'd recommend it to a friend.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

How long a bar is on that saw Jeff?  Looks like a monster, though I love my Huskies!  My 346 XP is my go to machine with a 450 playing back up.

The newer 5105 is 50cc with 3.9hp and a 20" bar the old 540 50cc 3.7hp and 18" bar...that big yellow locust took all of that 20" bar the big cherry all if the 18" bar.

Made me hafta look up the horse powers of the 346 XP...  2.7 kw or 3.621 British horse powers.  Not sure if British horses are tougher than other horses?
