a.dumont 10 #1 Posted October 9, 2017 1973 Kohler K482S on a 18 Auto. Measured 20 volts a/c from the engine, so I know the stator is good. 0 volts d/c coming out of regulator/rectifier. Can I just use a universal regulator/rectifier? Has anyone had better luck with one brand/model over another?
Achto 26,501 #2 Posted October 9, 2017 Give this site a try, they have reasonable prices on after regulators. http://www.psep.biz/store/kohler_voltage_regulator.htm

a.dumont 10 #5 Posted October 23, 2017 Will do. As long as it continues to show promise, a full rebuild will be in its future. I'll single thread that and pictures will come shortly!

BMW1 42 #7 Posted October 23, 2017 I used this one and it seems to work. This one has the 3 prong offset connector instead of the 3 prongs that are inline. https://www.dbelectrical.com/products/rectifier-regulator-john-deere-kohler-engines-15amp.html
