Recommended Posts

I have a early 90's 416 that came with a snowblower and I am trying to put this thing on for the first time and was wondering how you guys get that big heavy spring on the right is of the mounting bracket, it is # 12 in the parts break down. Thanks.

It's been a long time since doing mine but I think I jacked up the blower or supported it in the raised position. The lever #9 which applies tension must be moved too

Not too bad. Rotate the shaft #9 until the spring pin is in the low position.

Raise the blower with the tractor and block it up, (or put a floor jack under it to hold it up).

Let the lift down to release pressure on the shaft #9.

Slip the spring onto the pin and lock in place with the holding washer and hairpin clip.

Rotate shaft #9 and this will tension spring, shaft should snap down into place as it goes past center.

Remove blocking or jack and you are done.
