First Wheel Horse

Bought a project, on purpose. I took a pic of the S/N tag located on the left side of the dash tower.  Also took a couple of pics of the tractor.  The man i bought it from thought it is a 1973 model.  Hydrostat.  Engine needs rebuilt.  Can someone verify my year and model? Will send pics. Thanks.  Jim.

Thank you!  After surfing some docs on here i thought so but wanted a 2nd opinion.   I bought it for a winter project and hope to pull drag mowers with it next summer.  I have a new tablet and trying to insert pics.  Not yet successful.  Lol.

I currently own a 1998 JD GT 262 and have used it several years.  Its time for a spare.

Sparky

Should be a great winter project. Hopefully the tranny is good, it's scary buying a hydro that you can't test.

Thanks for all the welcome posts and the information.  Much appreciated.  I will get the pics up soon so you can see it.  I have a swisher 44" finish mower that I pull offset to my JD with 48" belly mower.  I plan to buy another swisher and pull 2 mowers on my acreage and let the Wheel Horse just loaf along.  The hydrostat will work perfect for that.

That's good advice 'Nut but why don't you just admit all you want is to see more pics?

With some weight , that 14 Auto could pull two Swisher pull behind units and the Deere backwards along with them - don't discount what that hydro can do for work , it would surprise you a lot .If the pump is in decent shape (most are but no one ever changed the oil ) they are strong enough to break the frame - you'll see that around here to an extent when folks work them a bit too hard .

Seems very nice , congrats .
