Have a 12 horse k 301 i was wondering if anyone has ever converted over or is not possible? Seems like I'm always having trouble with my points getting corroded.

I can't answer your conversion question, But  have you replaced the condenser and put in the correct plug?

Personally, I prefer the points ignition.

Gasket and grommet in place on the points cover to keep the gremlins out?

You would need a Kohler Magnum M12 as a donor engine to get the parts you need.  It would require the side bearing plate with stator, flywheel, starter, magneto, and tins.  From there you would rewire the IGN switch to GROUND the coil wire to kill engine instead.  You typically have to get a new ign switch.

You may consider getting a used set of points and condensor from someone on here.  The new aftermarket ones are junk / un-usable.  Good tip on the gasket and grommet.  They are very important!!!!
