Recommended Posts

Bwk719

Hey guys,

I own a 83 work horse GT-1142 and want to get the snow plow to use it strictly as a plow and pull tractor. Anyone know all the available snow plows that will fit it?

Thanks gents,

Brian

Here is the dozer sold in 1983-83 for your tractor.

Here is a list of the dozers in the order they were produced. Notice the next one was 48" wide which works better when angled. Don't forget the lift link and rear axle brackets which often get separated from the main assembly.

DNA

76-42BC01 replaces BD-426, BD-4264A, BD-4267, 6-1111, 6-2111, 6-4111 [6-4112 & 6-9621], [6-4113 & 6-9622], [6-4113 & 6-9623], [6-4114 & 6-9624], 6-2131, 6-2132, 6-2133, 66-42BC01

So any of those 5 that are listed after 06-42BC02 will fit it properly? Or any that replaced the 76-42BC01 will do?

They should all fit if you use the correct rear axle quick hitch. The first models had the rear hitch mounted on the front of the axle housings so the A-frame is a bit shorter. When they started mounting the rear hitch under the rear axle housings the A-frame was a bit longer. The parts lists for all show the rear hitch and you can see the differences in the illustrations. Some years there was no change at all. They just issued a new model number for the model year. 66 was 1976, 76 was 1977 and so on.

Yes later versions should work perfect. Earlier models might require different bends in the angle lever to clear the footrests.
