Ideas for tow behind rock remover for garden soil?

Recommended Posts

Hello fellas,

Thinking a bit into the future for the garden and was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for removing rock and gravel from garden soil?

I can always make a large sifter and go section by section. but if I could make something to speed the process up by pulling it through the soil first, that would be excellent.

 Thanks.

I remember someone did a thread on a "Subsoiler" or something like that a year or two ago. May be able to find it on here

Google "rock hound" images for ideas.

I spent a whole week working on a site with a skid steer and front mounted rock hound clearing out the soil in preparation for seeding - huge solar farm that was getting a special grass that stays short and will choke out weeds . The extra work was done because of the cost of that seed - the stuff was horribly expensive .

The "york" rake from Sears for the clevis hitch works for "bigger" stone and if you fab up a flat bar across the teeth you can set the depth and keep more stone coming forward than falling through, Jeff.
