953 nut 51,650 #4 Posted August 27, 2017 Here is the manual with wiring diagrams, happy hunting. With any electrical problem I have always found that cleaning and tightening all electrical connections will cure most of them.
N3PUY 1,031 #5 Posted August 27, 2017 Was there a single wire for the lights to the battery that didn't get reconnected?
shunter 20 #6 Posted August 28, 2017 Thanks for all the input, it ended up being the contacts on the light switch, go figure.. not that i use them, they are not to bright.. has anyone ever retro'd LED's bulbs?
AMC RULES 36,945 #7 Posted August 28, 2017 If you take the time to replace your lens, & detail that light bucket... I think, you'd be surprised how bright them old 1156's really are.
shunter 20 #8 Posted August 28, 2017 Nice work there, i'll give it a shot, what did you use on the lens?
AMC RULES 36,945 #9 Posted August 28, 2017 New lens... & a liberal application this on the bucket, sockets, springs, contacts.
Sarge 3,462 #10 Posted August 30, 2017 There are some pretty high powered led conversion bulbs that will fit the 1156 socket base - they aren't cheap but will provide about a 200% boost in output at a lower draw rate . Not sure how long they will last as the chips need to dissipate the heat - might need some vent holes in the housing . I had a set in an old car - they were a bit overkill but at least you could see backing up at night . Sarge
