briankd 816 #1 Posted August 27, 2017 my 857 has never had a rear lift cable i have some cable from my old garage door and was going to local hardware and buy some small clevis and make my own cable. what size cable diameter was on these 857 originally. my cable guide is there on top trans thought i just thread a cable thru it and put some clevises on both ends. 953 nut 51,008 #2 Posted August 27, 2017 Your best bet would be to use one of the new cables made by @wheelhorseman, they are great 1
Achto 26,198 #3 Posted August 28, 2017 With out a sheath on the lift cable, it will not operate as it should,

Sarge 3,462 #5 Posted August 28, 2017 Unless you have the correct ends and a hydraulic crimping machine - the ends will not hold against that kind of weight load from available implements on the rear hitch . Lowell's cables are better than factory in my opinion and really reasonably priced for the quality... Sarge
