74 B80 rear hub and wheel bearing removal?

I need to remove the hubs because the left side is leaking and both bearings are on the outside of wear specs.

I know the use of a full 5-bolt puller is normally recommended... and NO  :no: hammering.

 

I'm thinking (hoping) that the bolted on spacer would add a fair amount of stability???? 

Do you Experts feel that with the hub extension bolted on I could safely use a 3 jaw puller?:think:

Looks like a good idea. I would suggest you look at the post @meadowfield did a few minutes ago on pulling hubs.

That's a pretty awesome idea. 

I won't have time to try it for a few days but I'll let you know how it went.
