sleepydan 3 #1 Posted August 20, 2017 I recently posted about needing to adjust the PTO clutch trunion. As it turns out, my clutch friction plate is worn to the rivets. Is there an easy way to remove the bolts holding the clutch plate. Will an impact wrench do the job ? Thanks in advance. Dan
pfrederi 17,027 #2 Posted August 20, 2017 (edited) If you mean the 4 small bolts that go through the half moon clips holding the PTO friction disk on I would not use an impact wrench. The are only 1/4" bolts. Your favorite penetrating fluid and a few taps will probably get them moving Edited August 20, 2017 by pfrederi
sleepydan 3 #3 Posted August 20, 2017 How do you keep the crank from rotating while turning the bolts?

953 nut 50,998 #5 Posted August 20, 2017 I used a C clamp on the engine drive pulley to secure it, worked well. Paul's idea is good too.
sleepydan 3 #6 Posted August 20, 2017 Thanks!! I removed using "pfrederi's" method and it worked great. Installed clutch plate from a parts mower and now it mows like new. No slipping now. Thanks to RedSquare .
