"Floppy" rear deck wheels...

Recommended Posts

Indiana_Steve

I have a 0621 RD deck and there is  something I have been wondering about for a long time. The rear wheels are "floppy" and I was wondering if that is the way they were designed. The bolts are tight but the linkage to the wheels have sleeves so even if the bolts are tight there is a lot of movement. Is this normal? Deck mows well.

Deck wheels have greasable bearings and are mounted on shoulder bolts, may not have been kept lubricated.

Yes they are but the wheels themselves aren't the issue, the linkage that adjust the wheels is. Both sides the same so was wondering it that the way they are.

Looks like a carriage bolt with nut.  Put a flat washer between the two pieces.

Take the wheel off and check the spacer. My guess is you need a new spacer and maybe a new carriage bolt ( depending on wear ).    :twocents-02cents:
