Rollerman

My father in-law picked up this treasure at an auction a few years back.

It's been sitting since along the back fence row getting swallowed up by the weeds until we started clearing off the fences again & drug it to my shop.

I think he got caught up in the bidding & paid way to much for it, but I told him it's not a total loss & I could bring it back.....with a lot of parts!

Unless I can find a correct Briggs for it, I'll probably throw in a spare K181 I have on the shelf.

Currently in the process of tearing it down,my FIL will paint the tins while I do the mechanical work.

Check out the inspection window on the backside of the engine!

I don't know what to say Stephen.  Biding on that, he must have had some idea of what to do.  :occasion-xmas:  You've got another one for parts, don't you??

He didn't see the hole in the block till after the fact.

And he's not aware of what Horse's are worth more or built better.

Yep.

I think the hole is for checking the rod cab bolts, then you just put a new band aid over the hole & back at it.

Gday Members, I’m now selling my favorite WheelHorse WorkHorses, with a heavy heart.   These were the first of the WheelHorse tractors I had gotten that turned me onto what a great machine they were.
Anyways…although I’m not sure of the years, due to faded tags, they are True WorkHorses, so 82-84 vintage?   Both are the white ones.  First up is a GT1100, Briggs 11hp, 8 speed.  Has chains on rear. Had a new carb on it when I bought it, although I suspect that it’s not the exact unit, since the choke is not hooked up. I manually activated the choke to start.  Been sitting, so I will clean fuel system and replace battery.  The second is a GT1142, 8 hp Briggs, 8 speed.  Currently has a lightly used 42” Replacement Toro Deck.  I bought this from the original owners daughter, who blew the engine on it after she took up mowing duties after the death of her father.  So I sourced a replacement engine, replaced carb and battery.  42” Deck was only 1 year old when I bought it 6 years ago.  Shows very little use.  I cut with it 1 time after I got it running.   Ran / Cut great.  But it’s been in storage since.  Tires were original and I noticed 1 was low last week after sitting.  Filled it up and been fine since.  Battery will be replaced if necessary.  I’m looking for $1100/BRO.   I still have a couple sets of weights and chains available, as well as other decks and various parts that I’m liquidating.  The whole shop, tools and equipment is going too.

      Thanx, Jay

I just put a 'Stens' universal ignition module on my SB-421.
Its finally showing a spark, but it's faint.
Ohmed out the mag and found it's shot (42,000 ohms).
I guessing the points/coil and mag went at once?

Since it appears the universal is working, i'm looking for a magneto for this model, if anybody has/knows of one.

Since I bought two universals, I'm looking to attempt to see if one will work on my 552/H55 engine.

Has anyone done this on the diode system yet?

(I posted this on "engines" board also)
