Engine Drive Pulley

I posted a wanted ad for a 101875 engine drive pulley for my 16hp. I got the part # directly from the Toro Master Parts Viewer for a 1976 12k803 which would be the same as a 16hp. A word of caution here. The reference # on the blowup is 14-02. A quick look at the parts list and I saw 101875 and went with it. I did an ebay search using 101875 and found one at Joes Outdoor Power. It was said to come off a 310-8 and listed the part # as 101875 so I should be good, right? BUT WAIT! Looking again at the parts list showed that 14-02 was listed twice. The other number was 7466. More research revealed that the 101875 had a 1" bore and the 7466 was 1.125" which was what I needed. Now I wasn't sure what Joe had so I called him. Much to my liking he had the 1.125" bore. Apparently he did the same thing I did. Ideally just not having a part # for a small block on a big block list would be best but I see why they do it that way. I'm sure most of you know about things like this but I just wanted to remind everyone with hopes of preventing a mistake. Check and double check to see if more than one part # is shown and verify which one is correct for your needs :)

Hopefully everyone reads this. Here is a later model and look at all the item #1 drive pulleys. Two different engine crankshaft diameters and then the gear and hydro transmissions create a few choices and they can be anywhere in the list.

I ran into different diameter pulleys for hydro's & gear drives also. Hydro's were bigger dia. on the engine which is to run the pumps faster.

Running the pumps too slow, (according to Reco [ now long time gone WH dist.]) wears the faces of the slippers and hydro's should be run at full throttle at all times. I had that experience, but still don't run my engines full throttle.
