D-200 value

How much do you guys think this d-200 is worth I have an opportunity to buy it but not sure what it is worth ?

Got any other pictures , hard to say what the value is with only one picture.Do you know the year it was made?

No Gas tank I assume it doesn't run.  May have a rear PTO looks like the big pulley behind the grill.  I wouldn't pay much for a non running D series.  if it is an engine problem parts are getting pricey and hard to come by.  Hydro issue can mean a fair amount of work and parts there are pricey also.

 

If it has a rear PTO and 3 point and turning brakes there  is some money in parting it out.  But that would be about my limit buying it for parts.  400-500

If it is non-running Paul is being very generous, if you don't plan on parting it out it would probably be a money pit. If it runs well and the drive train is functioning properly the you need to know what extras it has going for it.

I Bought this 200 about a year ago --- not running, gas tank rotten, no exhaust, sad seat, slop in steering --- and of course several other small things that were to be found later. The way its sitting in the pic I had cobbled together a fuel source just to see what I had. The motor started right off once all the fuel system was replaced/cleaned ---- BUT! it smoked like crazy! as bad as I have ever seen one smoke! but it was quiet, no knocking. So motor rebuild right off the bat Getting it running allowed me to check out the drive system and it checked great! The deck seemed to be good also. Tires were marginal.         

 

I paid $400 and I was very leery going that much, but I have a weakness for the D's so ....

 

As it turned out, it was a good tractor, with less headache than I at first thought, the motor was a pain to get parts, but in the end I got them and it now runs like a new one. I estimate I put some $600-800 getting it in decent shape, and that doesnt count a hundred plus hours work.

 

So It pretty much comes down to "how bad do you want it??" and how skilled are you at getting back into decent condition?

Ok, sadly I only have the one picture and I don't know the year but it does have a gas tank it is just off on the picture it does have a three point hitch and I a, pretty sure a rear pro but I would have to go and look at it, I will see if I can get it for $250 

Then I can't go wrong unless it has a blown engine

The engine appears to be a Kohler twin so it would be a '75 or earlier.

Ok, I am waiting for the guy to reply to see if he would do $250, he is slow at replying so it might be a while, I will let you guys know what happens. If I get it I want to get it before the big show so I can get some parts there.
