The 50/50 (for now) D-160

Well, I had some ideas, and was trying to get a different look on the old D-160 and wanted to prevent her from rusting any more than she already has.  So the tractor will be finished, but I only did half the tractor to get some before and after examples!  It looks pretty ridiculous, but kinda cool, so I thought I'd share!  I really love how she is somewhat red again, instead of brown, sadly, my phone camera drowned out the colors a little bit, and the pics make it look a bit dull.

What did you use on the tractor?

I am using boiled linseed oil.  It seems to dry very slightly greasy/oily (where I read straight linseed oil is super sticky and thick), and apparently rags coated in the stuff can spontaneously combust, so you have to be super careful, take precautions, and dispose of properly, but it seems to be coming out decent.  I'm happy with the results so far, wish it came out a bit brighter still, but I'm not really complaining.  It did more than I thought it would have!

Well, she's done now, but of course, 4 minutes after this pic was taken, the deck blew a spindle. oh well.  At least she looks good!:handgestures-thumbupright:
