Docwheelhorse 2,559 #1 Posted January 29, 2009 Hello All, I have a C125 that runs very well but the carb does a couple weird things--any ideas?? 1)The tractor will only start at full choke with the throttle at or very near idle. 2)After it starts it will run and throttle up perfectly and never coughs or bogs---but if I put the throttle down to idle it will sit there contently for 3-4 minutes and then will start running slower and slower and then then it will load up and if I don't go over and throttle it up it will die--when I do throttle up it blows a cloud of black smoke and revs up. Do you think the float is set wrong or maybe the fuel pump is pushing too much gas? I've been ignoring it because it runs fine above idle and starts easy enough... MaineDad 85 #2 Posted January 29, 2009 I would guess it is a bad float seat needle. Sounds like it is filling with gas and then running too rich. Have you taken the carb off to give it a good cleaning?
