Pallet Ship a Tractor

I read the threads related to shipping via Fastenal and it seems like it will work.

 

Question:

If you have sent or received a full tractor, can you tell me how it was secured to the pallet securely without screwing it up? Pics would be awesome. 

 

I may ship a fully restored tractor and I don't want to scratch the axle housings with straps.

I've seen them banded around the tire with 5/8" plastic banding much like an auto recovery operation secures cars to rollbacks .

Bonnets I think they're called .

Never shipped one, but I would strap all four tires to the pallet, thus only touching the rubber. That is how I strap them in my enclosed trailer.

I've sent several via fastenal and haven't had any complaints.  I use ratchet straps and hook them into the holes on the front of the frame-to-transaxle mounting plate to hold the tractor for side-to-side stability.   The other strap goes on the hitch, under the pallet, and up around the front to the front axle.  I think if I had one o had to worry about not scratching on the front I'd lasso around the front tires.  

 

Then I stretch wrap the whole thing to keep prying eyes and fingers out.  

 

Block the tires of course.

  I think it would be a good idea to partly deflate the tires prior to strapping the tires so the strap can't slide off the side.

I am sure they told you but all the fluids are suppose to be drained. Not sure if they check the tranny?
