kohler k341 help

I have a wheel horse sk486 with a kohler k341  I  have replaced everything electric  new fuel pump the only time I can get it to run is if I take spark plug out pure gas in and start it that way then it stops when gas burns up  could it be carb ??

Could be the carburetor. If you haven't taken it apart to clean it, the float valve may be stuck closed. You can also take the hose off from the pump to the carburetor, have someone turn the engine over and see if gas is spurting out of the pump. If not, be sure that when the new pump was installed that you placed the lever on top of the camshaft and not under it.  :twocents-02cents:

I have a K341 that the fuel pump lobe wore off. Had to go electric pump.

Take the pump off and watch the lever as you put it in. Also, don't install it upside down. Lever needs to point upward.

Make sure you are getting gas TO the pump.    The pump will not suck gas to it.   If this is a tractor with the  fuel tank under the seat, fill the tank completely.

The fuel level will then be high enough to prime the pump.

Thanks guys for all the help took pump off checked everything out made sure the pump lever was above camshaft  and now I can mow  thanks guys for all the help
