WHX?? 46,687 #1 Posted April 11, 2017 Saw this on CL and was wondering if they were from the factory with a Briggs. I had thought I read somewhere that Kohler was in the midst of a strike so they were putting these in some models or is this a repo? Id be all over this for the price if it had a Kohler

WHX?? 46,687 #3 Posted April 11, 2017 Well that would explain why the guy said it ran like crap....blamed it on bad gas!
bmsgaffer 2,043 #4 Posted April 11, 2017 If the price is right, jump on it and re-transplant!
953 nut 51,497 #5 Posted April 11, 2017 Gas tank is not for sure. Has the hood been cut to allow the air cleaner to fit?
WHX?? 46,687 #6 Posted April 11, 2017 Hard to see but doesn't appear to be cut.
Irv 115 #7 Posted April 11, 2017 I believe some of the '74s had Teckys in them. Buy it, change the plug, clean the carb and you'll probably be happy with it. It looks pretty well cared for.
tbarnhart 240 #8 Posted April 12, 2017 Not a tecumseh. I have one of those. Definitely a briggs. The tank appears to be a briggs tank as well. No pto, and you probably wouldn't want to put one on there without the proper thrust bearing setup to handle the side load. Wheel horse muffler. Engine appears to be a 11hp although you wouldn't know without the model number.
WHX?? 46,687 #9 Posted April 12, 2017 But I am a Kohler dude now....you guys saw to that! Seriously after grilling the seller like a samwich it seems it's a little more than a just a bad gas issue. I have to pass on the 4 hr round trip go to look at, and that's not counting having to take the Missus to Red Lobster for a butter up.
