72Nova 0 #1 Posted April 11, 2017 Hello, I am new to the forum. I have a 520H with an Onan 20 H.P. engine. I purchased the tractor new in 1991. Tractor is pretty much relegated to snow blowing and towing around a cart for yard work. Retired it from mowing. The last few years it has been eating batteries and does not seem to charge. I replaced the regulator/rectifier and the voltmeter barely registers. Recently when starting it pegged the voltmeter and started to miss and eventually quit. It had no spark. It also roached one of the fuses. This morning on a whim I hit the starter and it fired right up. This charging/spark problem is kicking my but. Does anybody have any suggestions ? WHX?? 46,693 #2 Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) Check that 9 pin connector that connects the engine to the tractor wiring very carefully. There are a ton of threads here on that often fails 9 pin so do a search on them. Here is one that deals with no charging... http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/69051-520-issues/ 520 electrical gremlins can be a real challenge to try and chase down. Arm yourself with a good multimeter and a book mark to Red Square. Others will be along with more advice and to you! Edited April 12, 2017 by WHX11
