96WS6TA 37 #1 Posted April 8, 2017 Doin a semi tear down of my onan p220 for a decarbon kit. The pistons are pretty coated with carbon/oil I guess. As I turn the motor the pistons leave a film of oil on the cyclinder wall.I know more than the basic avg Joe but is that normal ? Do I need a ring job?? Thanks

rmaynard 14,863 #3 Posted April 9, 2017 Was the engine burning oil before the tear down? If not, I'd say you are okay.
