It's magic, and magic is never the same after you know how the trick is done.

I should have taken a picture it involves a Bridgeport mill a 6" Kurt vise a right angle knee a fixture I made with a 3/4" pin and three Kant twist clamps a 1"x1 1/2" spacer

one edge finder a 1/4" two flute endmill a center drill a 15/64" drill and a 1/4" reamer

Well I was going to suggest that, just wasn't sure if you needed a 1"x1.5" or a 1"x1.25" spacer:rolleyes:.

See, I told you that once you know how the trick is done it's no longer the same.

I have lined up the shaft hole in a drill press, clamped every thing solid, raised the drill out of the hole, (when happy with alignment) & put mating part on shaft & drilled, and been pretty successful that way, but  I would probably sent it out too, knowing someone who could do a job like that. There are many machine shops that would have botched a job like that. That one looks to me to be superior.

That's a great example of why machine work itself is cheap - but the setup will cost you a fortune , lol . Sort of like t-shirts , first one is $500 , after that - $6.50...
