953 vs C-120 8 spd gearing ratio's

i'm in a catch 22 as they say recently found a 953 with a snow blower which needs to be rebuilt, rear hitch grader, and mowing deck and all hydraulics work good and have found a pretty decent 1976 C-120 with a mowing deck and about a $100.00 difference between each other my goal with them or which trying to figure what would be the better puller of the 2 looking to make a portable crane with a detachable winch system or or hydraulic lift to twitch some logs and a chicken coop on wheels that weighs about 900lbs and odd and end stuff plus snow removal too

I would say the c-120 because it has a bigger engine but that's just my opinion

My 953 and 1054 out pull my c160 with ease. They weigh more. My 1054 has filled again tires and it will pull a single bottom plow through anything. For pulling I'd take the 953 overthe c120

The only reason I was thinking the c-120 is because it has more horse power but I guess I'm wrong

I learned a long time ago you could have all the horse power in the world but without the right gear ratio HP doesn't mean much but I would understand why a lot of folks would assume more horse power would be a prevailer

953 nut

The eight speed transaxle would be a big plus for the C-120, but like @Agage1 said; I'm putting my money on the 953.

I have one of each. My 953 out pulls both.

No the grill shell if the 953 is pretty heavy it's cast. But I did fill the rear tires.

If you find that you don't want the 953 you could always bring it to the "Big Show" and I'm sure someone will buy it from you.

i'm afraid it would be the other way too the 120 would go before the 953 .........the 120 i'm getting the guy has been selling for the longest time and trying for $600 and told him that if its not running and needs a few things i'dnever do it offered him $450.00 told me he'd think about and 2 days later called back says when can you pick it up? so opened my mouth so will take it the 953 i'm dying to see up close so might have a double whammy this weekend ..............wifey  not very happy about 2 but she'll get over it LOL
