Ed Kennell 35,746 #2 Posted March 14, 2017 You would have to have the pump up to some minimum RPM to build enough pressure to turn the wheels. I am not sure what that minimum is. I test non running hydro tractors by chaining them to a tree and driving the hydro with a long belt and a running tractor positioned behind the non runner. 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
smoreau 658 #3 Posted March 14, 2017 With the tractor off the ground on jack stands or the wheels off you can put a socket on a clutched drill ( not a impact!!!!!) and turn the pulley to charge the pump and test its operation. Once it is charged you can move the pump pulley by hand and get a reaction out of it. Put the drill in reverse for the correct direction. 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
