cleat 4,936 #9 Posted March 30, 2017 I rebuilt a chaincase on a Fairly high end Cub Cadet snowblower attachment this winter. The chain broke for some reason. This chain case has 4 ball bearings. All of them simply said "China" on the rubber seals. All seals are installed on these bearings even though the chain case is full of grease. Sad to see Cub Cadet using such cheap bearings (although they were in great shape still). I do realize that machine was likely made by MTD but still. That was a fairly expensive machine purchased at a Cub dealer. I can't remember the model number but it is a shaft drive hydro with power steering and I think around 24 HP. Maybe the roller chain was Chinese as well and that is why it broke. Rant ended, Chinese bearings are used by OEM builders in the US now apparently.
