Skittles, the GT14

Got my decals from Terry. They are beautiful. Can’t wait to get to that point. Also picked up some 5 lug trailer hubs and 8” x 5-3/4”  5lug wheels for the front. Going to convert it over. Wheels should be painted soon.

Looking great Richie—remind me again what accessories the switches are there to operate...

@PeacemakerJack Fender lights, head lights and reverse light. Maybe something else. Haven’t got that far yet or I did but forgot. :scratchead:

That dash plate is the same as a 953/1054. Terry could do a custom decal that would spice it up a bit.

I keep looking for the scrap cardboard from the templates in the background of all your pictures.... Haven't found a single one yet but I'll see one sooner or later....

I AM getting a bit jealous of all the green grass  I see in the background. We've got snow and nothing but ice on the driveways up here. As much as I love moving snow with my WH's. I'm ready to see some dirt and grass, still have a ways to go. Thanks for the latest pictures Richie, enjoying the education. Really nice work! (Don't tell anybody I said that, I have a reputation to live up to)

@cpete1 just remember, anyone can have A reputation, but a good reputation is priceless. As for templates, I destroy most of my cardboard during the process of making what it is I have a template of. :laughing-rolling: they get grease, silicone or spray on them and then they are worthless. I usually burn them in the trash. If I need another, I just take the part off and retrace it. For the dash, I just used the original plate. I cut a groove with a cut off wheel to match the original(got it straight the first time) and then cleaned it up. @953 nutThe chrome decal looks nice. I might trace out the holes and send Terry a template to make a decal for it. I have to get some engine decals made anyways. I appreciate the comments guys.

Oversized ignition switch hole repair ✅

someone hogged this thing out to just over an inch. WHY? Some things make no sense.  Brass fitting drilled out to 13/16” epoxied into the hole brings us back to where it should be, at least for the switch I’m using. Went with a pretty standard Indak toro switch. Plenty cheap on Amazon. Next up is to fill in the choke and throttle cable holes.

At that point I'd just start over with a new piece of metal, lol...hard telling why previous do what they do but it does make you scratch your head at times.

I honestly believe that to own tools you need an exam and a proper license .

Same thing with humans and paint - especially on beautiful old original hard woods...:deadhorse:

The time I've spent over the years correcting someone else's "repairs" I swear has wasted 1/3 of my time on this Earth, and folks wonder why I have a rotten temper...

The poor tractor is probably in shock. It  never had it so good in it's previous life. That dash and fuse arrangement looks like something off a high end street-rod for god sakes. Man Richie, its looking really good. will be interesting to see how the power steering works out. Waiting for the next installment of the build.

I want this to where if I had to I could put the steering back stock

Wouldn't that end up being the ONLY thing stock on the whole tractor if you did? :ychain:

Looks incredible so far Richie. This is going to make the big show this year, right?

I’m praying it will. So far so good. May not be fully painted but I am trying my best. Seat adjuster will be stock :laughing-rolling:

As far as steering goes if by some chance it didn’t work out(which it should) I could put the stock shaft and fan gear back in and be good to go.

Don't forget to add a heated seat with the massage option too! How about wipers for the headlights? :ychain:

Tire pressure sensors?

My GT-14 has the massage option all winter while the tire chains are on the tires.                 :ychain:

Don't knock wipers on headlights. Standard equipment on Volvos and they work like a charm. Only draw back is that they are a dealer item only. A bit pricey.

Good thing your short on time. Our friendly competition would otherwise be impacted by these guys giving you all these great ideas. Your project is going to put mine to shame:-)

I can’t wait to see yours in person at the show:-)
