Sundstrand 90-2046 filter and fluid

Recommended Posts

23 Reo

I just got a model 1 7231 tractor which I believe is a late 1968 Charger 12. THE transmission listed for this is a Sundstrand 90-2046.

Is the correct fluid F type ATF?  What is the correct filter?, Wheel Horse and Wix

:text-yeahthat:  and it may have ATF  (pink)   or 30w oil  (amber).    Use whatever is in it now.

If it is amber it should be 10w-30 not straight 30w,  The available universal ATF Dexron 3/Mercon would be the choice if it is red. But like Ed said use what ever is in there now either one works just fine.

If it were completely drained 5+ qts.  since complete draining isn't possible with out disassembly 4 to 5 qts are needed.  (Buy a gallon and qt at Wally World) Yes to screwing it in
