Forest Road 593 #1 Posted February 20, 2017 Finally made it upstate for some good snow. We had 12" Saturday and 5-6" Wednesday. Cold temps till Friday. That being said it was almost perfect.... it was 45-50 degeees when I started blowing. It was getting heavy. Anyway here's old faithful doing her thing. By the time it was over I had about 6 hours blowing. When my plow guy told me he made need a backhoe for the next storm. I said NO... I've got a horse!

ericj 1,576 #4 Posted February 20, 2017 you need a few more horses behind that blower for that wet heavy stuff, like 20, like a 520, although it looks like it gets the job done. must have been a little different blowing snow in short sleeve shirt lol eric j
bmsgaffer 2,043 #5 Posted February 20, 2017 That gives me an excellent perspective on the power required for that 2 stage! I love to hear a Kohler giving it everything its got! I agree though, a few more ponies for that blower would be awesome... future 418 maybe?

I'm no fan of Onans. Too much $$$ and not nearly as dependable. When they're good they're great! These blowers were designed for the 20hp machines. I've been running the 2 stage at least 5 years now. My single stage won't cut into the banks like this one. Most of the time it was plowed days or weeks before I get up to clean up.
