Dan693 510 #1 Posted February 18, 2017 About to put a Tecumseh 6 horse elect start on the test bench and plan to put on a 106 Lawn Ranger. Anyone have the proper wiring to get it going? The pics are the engine (let me know what year) the wiring coming off of it, and the ignition switch that was on my LR. A 5 prong that has a B,G,L,S,and M (pun intended). Any experience with this set up and ideas are appreciated as far as where the wires go. Thanks!
pfrederi 17,028 #2 Posted February 18, 2017 The original switch was a 3 terminal switch 4987 (new # 101482) still available for $55+/- from Toro The 3 terminals were Mag, Starter And Battery....not what you are showing What is model number of you "new" motor. It doesn't look to have the regulator unit used on the original motors.
Dan693 510 #3 Posted February 19, 2017 I realized the engine mdl # is stamped near the spark plug......H60-7545011. I'll search around and get a elect schematic for it so I dont short somthing out trying to start it.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,441 #4 Posted February 19, 2017 Are you sure? http://www.partstree.com/parts/search/models/?searchTerm=H60-75450 Here is the 101482 switch. It is a heavy duty switch designed to carry the heavy starter motor load. If it was mine I would add a solenoid and use a more common and cheaper switch. Your old switch appears to have only 4 terminals. Garry
pfrederi 17,028 #5 Posted February 19, 2017 You need to look at the model number again. Techys have 5 numbers and then a letter to end it. H60-75450 and a letter
