Haha! Yep, cats are like that. Mine jumps into any spot just vacated on the couch (warm).

Our cat and my wife have a mutual appreciation for sharing the warmth. Each morning the cat curls up on a blanket in my wife's chair warming it up fro her. When she (the wife) gets up for a cup of coffee the kitty moves over so the wife can have the warmed cushion then curls up for some quality lap time.

I am finally without a cat after 66 years of always having a little guy around. I miss that the last one used to sit on the sofa staring at me until I got up to do something, then she would move right into the spot I vacated. As far as the coat on the bed, that was a given. If any article of clothing was left on a horizontal surface, it wouldn't be long before a cat found it, and claimed it for a nap.

Here's my opportunistic napper  . Found her under a pine tree on the 4'th of July 2015 . She was maybe 2 weeks old , barely clinging to life . We named her Liberty...Libby for short . If I'm in my chair she's in my lap...she doesn't move and just rides along wherever I go (in the house) .
