Sodaking27 576 #1 Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) Picked up a tall chute today. It's going to need some TLC to get it looking better. Price was reasonable. Going to go completely over it in the summer so it's ready for next winter. Time to start studying all the snow blower threads on the site. Model is 79-360. Auger doesn't look to bad. Side panels are on wrong and bent inward. Edited February 11, 2017 by sodaking27
Ed Kennell 35,576 #2 Posted February 11, 2017 It appears the bolting flange for the side wing extensions have been bent in straight with the sides of the blower. They should be angled out and the extensions are reversed.

Sodaking27 576 #4 Posted February 12, 2017 Any good suggestions on how to get the flanges bent back to the correct angle?

Ed Kennell 35,576 #7 Posted February 12, 2017 (edited) Use the bend on the front of the wing as a template. That angle should be the same as the flange angle. It may help to clamp a backer bar on each side of the flange to get a complete straight bend. I have also used a 24" pipe wrench with a 6' pipe handle extension to make some bends. The challenge is to securely clamp the stationary part to a solid immovable object. I have used the 6X6 post in my pole barn for many of these bends. Of course, if you have an acetylene torch, no problem. Just don't cook the bearings. Edited February 12, 2017 by Ed Kennell

Ed Kennell 35,576 #13 Posted February 13, 2017 Howard, we better stop this nonsense before we get a citation. The mods are on call and watching. Sorry for using your post @sodaking27, but inhaling too many horse fumes is probably the reason we act this way.
jeff lary 171 #14 Posted February 13, 2017 That blower does not have many hours on it I don't believe. The auger is in really good shape the rust must be from just sitting out in the weather. Good score she will clean up nice I have one just like it use it for every snowstorm for the last 22 years. We are getting a good storm today too. Just about every business that has ever been open is closed today !
