thinking of ways to set my 701 off to be different from others

Elkskin's mower junkyard

i am debating on ways to make my 701 different from others but not mod the you know what out of it. i was thinking of installing the parking brake and cover from a 62-64 round hood on it. my 701 had some butchering done by one of previous owners. down  on left side of dash tower is about 4 holes drilled. they had a few toggle switches in there which i pulled all that crap off. so its not a perfect 701. and installing the side cover on left side would help cover them up from veiw if you look from left side.  plus i like having a parking brake due to hills we have. Also other 701 owners i need close up pictures of the deck engaugement system i am having issues putting that back together one arm is hitting oil drain and not allowing the pedal to latch. i have a 36 inch deck from the work horse 700 i want to use on this 701. yes i like machines to be original looking but also when a machine has been modified already a little custom work never hurt anything. its going to still scream i am a 701. like one my sears suburbans it was a regular sears suburban 15 i turned it into a custom ss with parts from a 78 sears gt16. but it you look at it now and say hey its a sears ss15 with a pedal pto and late 70s footrests.

artfull dodger

Brush/hood guard, headlights with visors(think spot lights for a HD motorcyce), the tail lights above are way cool looking.  moon hub caps.   Maybe a few pieces chromed that are normally not chrome.   My Commando 8 is gonna be different as well.  Got the base decals done, working on other custom touches.  But I have to keep mine resonable as I still mow and am planning to go to plow days with the Horse.     Mike

Put that sucker right smack-dab in the middle like the old rodders did .

Fit it with a trendy LED bulb & you'll be the talk of the town !

i plan on doing something like that.    plan on either scoring a hl-5 light bar or making one. and i plan on seeing  about getting these http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-12W-3LED-Motorcycle-Headlight-Work-Light-Driving-Fog-Spot-Lamp-Night-Switch-/201773632843?hash=item2efaa54d4b:g:CqwAAOSwjDZYbhjD&vxp=mtr dang i see now they say 7/8th inch bars that might not work

has you can see theres is holes drilled in my toolbox already from one previous owners bright idea of running a car battery.

and another thing i forgot to mention. if i take this 701 to shows it will end up in my dads 4 wheel wheel horse wagon so cant do duals. next nice warm day ill have the 4 wheel wagon out and put the 701 in it for picture. but i will have to brace the wagons axles before i do any shows. the wagon broke front axle away from frame twice before i got it. (40 dollar scrapyard find lol)

i got a old photo. a few years ago when i got the wagon. it was back when the 502 had a 8hp briggs on it lol

SUNP0078.jpg

i will get it out hopefully this weekend. oh if you look at second picture you will see right tire of wagon is tilted well i fixed that a couple months ago. bushings were shot. they put a tire from a wheel horse tractor on it lol. I have no idea the year of this wagon due to no tags. but like i said a few years ago i bought this out of Pauls auto yard in Demotte Indiana for 40 bucks.

now here is a tread i stumbled on. yes its a rj in the wagon but i did measuring a few months back. the 502 (if i put narrow tires on back) would fit. the 701 is same demintions has the 502 just a little heavier
