I did the same with my predator swapped 606!! Love it!!

It is a lot of fun. I was worried about it robbing too much power but that thing is really good at low RPMs out of the hole too. To start out in high gear I have to throttle it down to almost idle or it will pop a massive wheelie.

Sorry. I didn't mean to hijack this thread.

If you had a bike as  a kid you know the front sprocket was bigger to gear it DOWN   UP to the rear wheel so you could peddle it with ease; same deal here.

Seems like i didn't think very much prior to typing!   :text-imsorry:

I had to build a front weight bracket after I almost flipped it!!

Anyone know where to find a pulley with a metric keyway? The Honda shaft is a 1" diameter with a 7x7mm key!!  can only find 1/4" around here!

NAPA should have them, with all the metric junk out there I'd be surprised if they didn't. Any dealer that sells and services Honda or other ATVs will have them.

Well we determined the cause of the slow drive speed is from the gear reduction on the motor :think:  I never realized it had one.

So, if you know the real drive shaft RPM of the Honda, you can use daveoman's link to determine how large the drive pulley needs to be to achieve the same speed you had with the Techy.

Ed,

Looks like I'll be able to solve my problem easier than you will be able to solve your Elks problem haha. If I had any advice I'd certainly pass it on to you!

Thought this deserved an update...... Our ELKs lodge is now smoke free during Friday night dinner hours.  :happy-wavemulticolor:

      Hey all,

This pully blew up on me yesterday. Having a hard time IDing the part # or replacements. the 308-8 schematics I've found don't list this part.  Its the pully in the front that runs from the motor to the mowing deck.

      Thanks in advance!

I need a little part number help.   I'm looking for the part number of the idler pulley that tensions the drive belt on my 857.  The diagram shows the left side of the tractor.  And I can't seem to locate the pulley on the parts drawing.  The bearings have gone out on my tractor's idler.

I really need a 6594 pulley if anyone would sell one. I really really need one. I exploded mine pressing the bearings out. I’m so sad and feel stupid. If I can’t find one my all original 877 is basically useless to me. My grandpa bought this thing new in 67 and we have used ever since. I love this thing and want to be able to pass it down to my son. Please help!
