Bigger drive pulley.. now it's slower?!?

It is a lot of fun. I was worried about it robbing too much power but that thing is really good at low RPMs out of the hole too. To start out in high gear I have to throttle it down to almost idle or it will pop a massive wheelie.

Anyone know where to find a pulley with a metric keyway? The Honda shaft is a 1" diameter with a 7x7mm key!!  can only find 1/4" around here!

NAPA should have them, with all the metric junk out there I'd be surprised if they didn't. Any dealer that sells and services Honda or other ATVs will have them.

Well we determined the cause of the slow drive speed is from the gear reduction on the motor   I never realized it had one.

So, if you know the real drive shaft RPM of the Honda, you can use daveoman's link to determine how large the drive pulley needs to be to achieve the same speed you had with the Techy.
