Vinylguy 4,666 #1 Posted January 7, 2017 ignition switch placement on most 520's seems to be on the right side of the dash but I have had a couple requests from customers who have theirs on the left side? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,478 #9 Posted January 8, 2017 The parts list for the 1988-89 520 must be a revised edition because I can't see them including the 1989 before the 1988 models came out which is when the 1988 would have been created. Even the operator manuals at the time show the switches on the right. The 518-H, 520-H and 520-HC have a note on the page where the controls are illustrated and described that states "ignition switch may be on the left side". The 516-H also on the page does not have the note. From the parts manual 1988 516-H model 31-16OE01 uses 113911 replaced by 119230 decal 1988 518-H model 31-18OE01 uses 113911 replaced by 119230 decal 1988 520-H model 31-20OE01 uses 113911 replaced by 119230 decal 1988 520-HC model C1-20OE01 uses 113911 replaced by 119230 decal - This was used through 1997 so must be ignition switch on the right. 1989 518-H model 31-18OE02 uses 115909 decal 1989 520-H model 31-20OE02 uses 115909 decal 1989 520-HC model C1-20OE02 uses 115909 decal - These must be for the ignition switch on the left.
