Best Caboose Hot Dogs around!

Recommended Posts

The Lyons N.Y. Hot Dog Caboose. Named one of the best 62 diners in N.Y  They also have fried bolonga. (My sister's favorite) I always stop there during my vacation before leaving for the Big Show. I also go there after fasting for my 7 yr. tune-up. :).

"HIYA!! Thanks for stoppin(g)". Every customer was greeted the same way. I use to live about 1 mile from this iconic Chicago landmark. It is on the Nort(h) side of the city, and is always a required stop on trips back to Chi Town. This plus Al's Beef on Taylor St. in Italian Village, and occasionally a Polish down on Maxwell St. By the way, a Chicago dog has mustard, onion, dill pickle, flourescent green relish, sport peppers on a poppy seed bun - but no ketchup!

That's Maurie and Flaurie on top.

Being a Chicago transplant (like a lot of the students and faculty  of the University of Illinois)  we are thrilled that we will soon have a Portillo's in Champaign.  The Italian beef is also on par with their hot dogs.
