is your switch good? try a jumper wire on the switch lugs

If you have a test light, start at the lamp sockets and work your way back to the switch. If you replace the switch, mark the wires as to which pole they come off of (poles are identified by letters). My replacement switch had a different pole arrangement and I didn't realize it until my battery was dead because the charge wire was on the wrong pole.

Check every connection and fuse first. Then trace the wire all the way looking for frayed spots. Finally, check ground. 

 

Ask me how I know...I had: Bad connections, frayed / pinched wire, and intermittent ground - A Trifecta!
