Hey guys, im trying to figure out if i have an 8 hp or a 12 hp  on my b-80, i seen pics of the 12 and it looks like mine, but i dont know for sure. A ny features or markings to tell the two apart..... thanks

the flywheel is much larger on a 12HP than on a 8HP.

:text-yeahthat: That's definitely not an 8 horse. Look at the difference in the size. 10- 16 hp's are basically the same size externally and much bigger than an 8 hp. The 8's also mounted on a riser plate. :)

8 bolts that i can see

dang things huge!

plate calls it an 8 , the guy i bought it from says 8, but i think its to big to be an 8....lmao

racin you are right i believe, if yours is an 8 mine is deff not that. yours has about a 2 in raised ring around the screening, mine has about 1/2 in raised area around the screen cover.its got to be a 10 or 12.

That's not mine but I just wanted to show you the obvious difference between a big block and the small block 8. The other guys are letting you know the more subtle differences between the 10, 12, 14 & 16 horse motors. All good stuff. :)
