rmaynard 14,865 #2 Posted November 25, 2016 I've always secretly wanted one of those ever since I was outbid at an auction a couple of years ago. Nice find.

305 379 #6 Posted November 25, 2016 (edited) that's the motor tag , nothing to do with 1974.......you need to look at the tag on the body i had a 1966 lawn skiff once , the model number was something like RE66 Edited November 25, 2016 by 305

gt4 196 #8 Posted November 25, 2016 Thanks for the help i think this is a number 2 which would make it a 1968 recoil but it also has electric start.
rmaynard 14,865 #9 Posted November 25, 2016 That tag looks like it has a "1" superimposed over top of the "2", but it doesn't matter. Either a 2-1231 or 2-2231 would be a 1968.
dandan111 31 #10 Posted November 25, 2016 I seen a neat little Mott flail mower on Craig's list. Would be fun to pull behind that.

gt4 196 #12 Posted November 25, 2016 I would like to get it running and leave its work clothes on and cut with it.
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,125 #13 Posted November 25, 2016 Just now, gt4 said: I would like to get it running and leave its work clothes on and cut with it. What you have for an engine is a Tecumseh" V60 " which means 6 horse power aluminum cast block with a vertical crankshaft style engine. Tune-up and minor repair parts for these engines are somewhat easy to find.
608KEB 794 #14 Posted November 26, 2016 The REO tub mower was my first mower I bought when I mowed lawns in high school. Sweet Ride! I think mine was a 1966
gt4 196 #15 Posted November 26, 2016 Well i got it running, seems not bad. Had to start it with a drill, and the key switch is shot. Can't seem to get it to start with the recoil but at least the engine is ok. 20161126_130401.mp4
