Jelly, thank you for those encouraging words. Yes, I do over complicate things. It's my nature. And then when you get all these guys involved to, look out below. Lol

Cause you have one tractor has no bearing on your opinion to me, your a wheel horse guy, your comment is welcome by me. Thanks.

Tractor 1980 E- 81 5-Speed RER D&A TIPL SN.pdf

I tried to give you a link but I'm not that computer savvy  .

Anyways I'd use three gel 12v deep cycle batteries (wheelchair). If you keep them on the charger when not in use

, they should last 5-7 years . That's with every day use .

Interesting dilemma you have gotten yourself in Glenn. :)

I am a 520H guy and not familiar with those years and models.   So if the wife says ok and you have the space, time and are willing to put out the effort and money to bring them back to life Do it.

Like has been said, you can always clean 'em up and sell any or all in the future if you find you have bitten off more than you could chew.   :twocents-02cents:

Others have said it, but if that bunch can be saved, if you just corralled them and brokered them to those who really wanted them and make enough to cover your expenses it seems like a win win

if you get the 551 and are willing to sell the fenders seperate im interested.

i think you could buy them and clean them up and sell them, since rangers seem to be somwhat collectible:?:  the a-60 would be somthing somone would like since there rare.

I always just a assume a sellers going in high , so as a buyer hit em low! i see your swinging for the fence so here comes the Lowball! If he gets mad and tosses you out of there, decision made for you. But he could agree or meet you somewhere in the middle . Theres parts there all day long . And as unfortunate as it is there are WHs that need to become sacrificial lambs, organ donors if you will to keep the life breathing on the inside and the faces pretty on the outside.I wouldn't just walk away just don't overshoot ,theres always another deal waiting to come along.

From this post... did you take the whole herd?  Can you post some picture of them in their new home?  It would be great to see them cleaned up.

Jelly, no, I haven't made a move yet. Still thinking, I have plenty of time, I know the seller, there is no rush.

That comment was made as a joke for a lawn ranger fan to face possible retaliation. It was in jest.

Van, that is the biggest understatement.  (the enjoyable part), I was laughing out loud, only cause there is SO MUCH on my plate right now. I have 5 garages rented out full of stuff waiting for the mrs. to pull the trigger to move.

the big treat for me will be my 30 x 65ft. new wheel horse hangout.

thanks for the chuckle, I sure needed it.

Wow Glenn I just found this thread! Looks like you found a pretty good treasure trove! I don't think any of the prices you stated sound out of line. Want me to drive to jersey and give you some encouragement? :D I'd definitely take that commando 8 I love those 8hp short frames. Lawn Ranger's are nice to have if you can get the darn tecky's to run right (I don't have a lot of luck with that). I'm encouraging you to pick some of these out and give them a good home!

Terry, that's the one with the red Engine? Pull start electric start Combo?  Just a  fwiw,  I haven't been back there yet.  Biding my time.

I have to run out by Scranton, PA. And pick up my xi 2 stage and cab. Just putting that trip together is a nightmare,

I do note, everyone has picked out something in that little barn herd.
