What's the biggest tire that I can use in the rear of a 310-8? Would 23X10.50X12 work? Thanks

:WRS:          That is what I have on the rear of my 312-8 (virtually the same tractor).

How do they fit, are they real close to the fender?

If you mount the 10.5 tire on the standard width rim (7" or 7.5") it will be a bit taller than 10.5....might be close to the fender. The WH factory only mounted 10.5 rubber on the wider rims (8.5"), those rims came on the 520's and the GT-1800's (I think there was another model but I cant remember).

23" is the height, 10.5" the width and 12" the rim...

I was considering some 24" which would be about 1/2" from the seat pan.

Mine came already mounted on the 8.5" rims so there is no ballooning due to narrow rims; I should have mentioned this.

Those are a better choice for your stock rims than the 10.5's.

Just be aware that not all tires with the same specs are actually the same size.  Kenda tires run wide. Deestone tires are smaller in diameter than the specs.  Dico's and Titans are what WH used as OEM tires.  Carlisles are probably the best but they come at a price.  If you are going to buy new rubber, buy 4 ply-more resistant to thorns.

I just slapped some 23 x 10.5 x 12 @ 6ply lugs on my newly painted rims and WOW, that was a B! Needless to say I put the tires on from the back to save the front of the rim.

Had to sand and paint a bit of the edge of the rim afterward though. ha ha. Looks good now. though.

Also keep in mind that bigger or smaller overall diameter of the tire will either increase or decrease your speed by a little. Bigger tires will increase and vs versa.
