Oil Leak behind Fuel Pump

Recommended Posts

FrKsHwZ

I have done some research and come up empty handed. I read on one post that the fuel pump could be bad? Well my leak (oil) is coming out of the mating surface of the engine(k301). Also I have read to put gasket maker around it but may have to do it several times within a year.  So if any other suggestions, I'm open ears, Thanks.

First step is to remove the pump and check it's block mating surface for flatness. If it's ok get a new gasket, If it's not, get a new pump.

You can put a new gasket and if the surface is not cleaned or prepared properly it will do that... If it happened to me it could happen to you

Pump mating surface can be resurfaced flat pretty much like a Cylinder head. Removing lever is not difficult once that is done its really simple. Once resurfaced I like to replace those #3 Phillips head bolts with regular hex head bolts which allow you to tighten them a little better.
